In a story in inquirer.net. Deputy Presidential Spokesperson
Abigail Valte was quoted as saying that Malacanang hopes that legislators will study
again the opt-in provision in the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL). For those who don’t know, the opt-in provision
states that any local government unit (LGU) or geographical area outside the
territorial jurisdiction of the Bangsamoro which are contiguous or closest to
any of its component units may opt to be part of it by filing a petition of at
least 10 percent of the registered voters . The LGU may be included if a
majority vote is reached in a plebiscite.
KAYA’T KUNG HALIMBAWA AY NAGING KARAGDAGAN NA SA BANGSAMORO ANG
ISANG LUGAR DAHIL SA OPT-IN, ANG BAYAN O SIYUDAD O PROBINSIYA NA KALAPIT NITO AY MAAARI NA RING MAPASAMA.
KINALAUNAN, MAAARING BUONG MINDANAO AY MAPASA-BANGSAMORO NA.
Point No.1 – The House of Representatives has already deleted the provision in the BBL. Senate President Franklin Drilon has been quoted in media as saying the provision won’t be in their version of the BBL. So for Malacanang to still hope for reconsideration of the provision is downright SUSPICIOUS and SCARY. Neither Valte nor the MILF, and the government’s peace panel, have CITED ANY ADVANTAGE of the opt-in provision to the majority of our Muslim brothers. And I don’t think Valte will admit to disgusting CHILDISH IMMATURITY OR STUPIDITY that Malacanang simply FEELS LIKE having the opt-in provision. Nothing more. Only an IDIOT would not realize that THERE’S A HIDDEN AGENDA behind the opt-in provision.
Point No.2 -- The opt-in provision is one of the reasons other
ARMED groups in Mindanao like the Sultanate of
Sulu and the Moro National Liberation Front are rejecting the BBL. Common sense
will clearly show that BLOODIER and more WIDESPREAD FIGHTING will follow if the
provision is forced in the BBL. And yet,
Malacanang IS NOT SAYING ANYTHING about this. Ang IMPORTANTE lang ay ang gusto ng MILF. Anuman ang maging resulta, BAHALA NA SA BUHAY
NILA ang mga tututol.
Keep your eyes on the BBL, people. Something STINKS! 30
