TULFO HEARING COVERAGE PROVED GLENN NEWS BLACKOUT

GUARDING THE BALLOT Former Biliran congressman Glenn Chong, now vice chairman of Reform Philippines Coalition, warns that if security features of the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines for use in the 2016 polls that had been removed in two past elections are not restored, next year̢۪s electoral exercise would be anything but honest and credible. The extensive coverage of the Senate hearing yesterday on the allegedly questionable advertising contract by the Tulfos with government TV station PTV PROVED the NEWS BLACKOUT imposed on Glenn Chong’s initial expose on cheating during the 2016 elections.

The Tulfo hearing was COVERED FROM START TO FINISH by mainstream media.  Even in the evening news and media websites now. Glenn’s revelations were only known by the people THROUGH VIDEOS ON SOCIAL MEDIA. His expose DID NOT MERIT EVEN A MINUTE OF AIRTIME OR AN INCH OF NEWSPAPER SPACE the day after.

Without question, the controversy facing the Tulfos is a big story. But the P60 million involved in it is WAY, WAY, WAY BELOW the BILLIONS spent in the 2016 elections.  And remember, the 2016 elections was participated in by tens of millions of voters NATIONWIDE, compared to the low viewership of the PTV program linked to the controversy.

ONLY THE IDIOT AMONG THE IDIOTS would say that the controversy involving the Tulfos is a bigger story than Glenn’s DETAILED EXPOSE on the 2016 elections cheating. Every editor and media company worth their salt would not dispute this. I know what I’m saying because I’m a former senior editor of a group of newspapers with nationwide circulation during our time.

Glenn’s initial expose was SUPPRESSED, no more doubt about it. I cannot say who orchestrated it and how was it done, But the critical point is somebody or some people DIDN’T WANT Glenn’s revelations to be known by the people. Only the GUILTY would do that. 30
