For me, the impeachment raps filed by three allies
of Leni Robredo against the seven Supreme Court (SC) justices who had voted to
oust Maria Lourdes Sereno as Chief Justice is nothing more than an AMATEURISH
GIMMICK intended to slow down the recount of votes covered by Bongbong Marcos’
protest against her.
Leni’s allies know that they cannot, hopefully,
DIVERT public attention from Naga and her brother-in-law if the ones they’ll
accuse are of lower stature than the justices. And unless their tribe acts
fast, PUBLIC ANGER will further mount on Leni and PRESSURE for the immediate
resolution of Bongbong’s protest will certainly rise.
So since the SC also acts as the Presidential
Electoral Tribunal (PET) and the seven justices are also part of it, no one
else would be more effective diversions than them.
Take note, people, the impeachment complaint
against at a time when Robredo and her home city of Naga in Camarines Sur are
in the headlines, One is for President Digong Duterte’s recent statement that
the city was a former hotbed for shabu. The other is for a former councilor’s claim
that her brother-in-law is the alleged protector of illegal drugs there.
The impeachment RAP was not filed RIGHT OR
SHORTLY AFTER Sereno was ousted, which is the NORMAL THING to do.
