In
a story in http://news.abs-cbn.com/news/08/14/18/robredo-asks-pet-to-use-decrypted-images-of-compromised-ballots,
lawyers of Leni Robredo on Tuesday asked the Presidential Electoral Tribunal
(PET) to use decrypted images of ballots with questionable rectangles in the
manual recount of her votes and that of Bongbong Marcos. Robredo’s camp said Bongbong
has failed to produce proof that the ballot images had been compromised.
My
take: Robredo’s camp has also NOT PRESENTED EVIDENCE that the rectangles were not
signs of cheating. Until they do so, and the PET concurs, the integrity of the ballot
images remain QUESTIONABLE. And any lawyer correct me if I’m wrong, anything
QUESTIONABLE should never be used in the pursuit of truth.
\When
Bongbong exposed the suspicious rectangles early this year, I remember Leni’s
camp and Comelec saying that candidates were informed about it in a
pre-election briefing in 2016. Bongbong’s
camp said they were never told of the rectangles. They asked for minutes and
other records of the supposed briefing. To this day, both Leni and Comelec HAVE
NOT GIVEN BONGBONG ANY. Neither have they bared details to the public.
I
also consulted two people then about that alleged briefing. One was a
congressional candidate and the other the chief strategist and operations
officer of a candidate who has never lost ion any election. Both said THEY WERE
ALSO NOT INFORMED/INVITED by Comelec to the supposed briefing.
And
take note, people, it’s ONLY ROBREDO who has been exposed so far with
rectangles beside her name in some 2016 election ballots. NO ONE ELSE. Plus, to date, Robredo’s camp HAS NOT COME UP
with any evidence to show that she has nothing to do with all the proofs and
tell-tale signs of cheating uncovered so far in ballots and ballot boxes from her
home province of Camarines Sur.
So
it’s Robredo, and not Bongbong, who should present evidence…A LOT OF IT.30
