Critics continuously blame the government
debt left behind by former President Ferdinand Marcos as one of the major, if not
the main, causes of the country’s economic problems. But the TRUTH is, it’s NOYNOY
AQUINO’S GOVERNMENT which pushed WAY, WAY DOWN the depths of indebtedness.
Various reports say a total of $26.7 billion in debt was incurred by Marcos during his 21-year presidency. If you convert that into pesos at an exchange rate of $1–P50,
that would be P1.335 trillion. If you divide
$26.7 billion by 21, that’s $1.271 billion yearly. Converting that to pesos,
that’s P63.55 billion.

last year said according to the Freedom From Debt Coalition, Noynoy Aquino’s
6-year presidency accumulated a total of P4.16 TRILLION
in debt. That’s almost TRIPLE than Marcos’, in JUST 6 YEARS! Dividing P4.16
trillion by 6, you’ll get P693.33 BILLION YEARLY, or more than 10 TIMES
the Marcos era level.
