Reacting to my post yesterday on “SC (Supreme
Court) SHOULD EXPLAIN ON BONGBONG PROTEST,” some personal friends raised the following
points for clarification by both the SC acting as the Presidential Electoral
Tribunal (PET) and the Comelec.
What happens to the protest if another one of
the accused from Smartmatic escapes and goes abroad? One has already did,
Mauricio Herrera. Despite assurances by Comellec Chairman Andres Bautista` and
Smartmatic tha no one among the accused will leave the country. To date, there has been no news that Comelec
punished Smartmatic in any manner whatsoever. They also HAVE NOT requested for
a HOLD-DEPARTURE order (HDO) for the rest of the accused from, Smartmatic. Anybody
correct me if I’m wrong.
So why does the Comelec CONTINUE TO IGNORE
the escape of Herrera, and the risk of the OTHER SMARTMATIC ACCUSED following
him? Since there is already a protest
before it, can’t the PET ISSUE AN HDO on its own? Better yet, the PET SHOULD
ORDER SMARTMATIC to immediately present the Smartmatic accused in public
If it turns out that the Comelec had
disobeyed the PET to safeguard and preserver erection paraphernalia by
proceeding with the dismantling of technical equipment, WHAT WILL THE PET DO? What
will be its effect on Bongbong’s protest? Has the Comelec submitted any
compliance report to the PET? The
Comelec said there will be back-up files for the date in equipment which will
be dismantled. But with their CONTINUED REFUSAL to have the unauthorized
alteration by Smartmatic in the transparency server script audited, what is the assurance of the people
that the data is GENUINE AND ACCURATE, and not FRAUDULENT?
As I
said yesterday in my previous post, Bongbong’s protest involves the SECOND HIGHEST OFFICE of the
land, and HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS IN PEOPLE’S MONEY that will be SPENT BY IT and
on it. It’s NOTHING LESS than a MOCKERY of the Office of the Vice-President to
go on functioning WITHOUT 100 PERCENT LEGITIMACY OF ITS OCCUPANT.30
