A story in tribune.net ph
says more than one million signatures of suipporters of the burial of former
president Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB) will be
submitted to the Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday. With this development,
the SC has no choice now but to decide as soon as possible (ASAP).
If the tens or hundreds of
thousands of supposed human rights victims during FM’s presidency can’t be
ignored by the SC as some reports had earlier claimed, the more THEY SHOULD NOT
IGNORE one million people who want to lay FM to rest in the cemetery he
rightfully belongs to.
There have been numerous
media statements by law deans and top caliber politicians and lawyers like
former Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile that there is NO LEGAL OBSTACLE to FM’s burial at
the LNMB. And ONE MILLION PEOPLE, both here at home and abroad, are a LOT, LOT
MORE than the supposed tens or hundreds of thousands of supposed human rights
victims.
The one million signatures
also BELIE claims by anti-LNMB burial groups that there will be a public
outrage or something to that effect if FM will be laid to rest there. Apart from
being OUTNUMBERED, the human rights victims and their leaders have continued to
FAIL in getting massive support from NEUTRAL GROUPS and the citizenry in
general. So what public outcry are they talking about?
It’s now a question of once
and for all upholding the will of the majority and of implementing the law
against the LEGALLY INFIRM WISHES of the lesser few. Personally, I am confident
the SC will go for what is RIGHT, and JUST. 30
