ABS-CBN DAYAN STORY MISLEADING!
ABS-CBN’s story on Ronnie Dayan is HIGHLY
QUESTIONABLE. ABS-CBN claims Dayan surrendered to police at Barangay San
Felipe, San Juan town in La Union late this morning. But other news websites
described the event as AN ARREST.
When one uses the term surrender that means
the fugitive READILY GAVE UP, WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING, to lawmen who have
arrived to get him. He will just yield, with the lawmen not having to do anything
either, to place him under arrest. When you say arrest the lawmen had to exert
effort or perform an action before they can take the fugitive into custody.
ABS-CBN posted a video to support their
story. The first part showed Dayan’s family and siblings talking to a police
official who asked them to convince Dayan to give up. The second had people and
police arriving at a house, then people running on an open field. The last
shot, STILL ON THE FIELD, had Dayan being held and led by a man and a woman, with
a man in fatigues beside them. Ahead of them were other policemen and what
appeared to be onlookers.
Anyway, I look at it, people on the field were
running AFTER DAYAN. The video did not show ANY OTHER PERSON or reason for the people
to do so. Therefore, it was an ARREST and not a SURRENDER. If it had been a
surrender, the video would have shown Dayan IMMEDIATELY COMING OUT of the house
and extending his wrists to the policemen to be handcuffed.
Anybody correct me if I’m wrong. Otherwiise, PAANO
