Here
are my three Christmas wishes for all my FB friends, my members in “Our Voices
by Boyet Antonio,” my regular readers and to all of you wherever you are:
First:
May love, caring and peace reign in your families from now on and forever.
Patch
up all differences. Make the first move if necessary. It won’t hurt,
emotionally or physically or psychologically. Apologize if you have to.
MONEY
MEANS NOTHING, people, if there’s NO COMPLETE HARMONY in the family. You may
have what you want. But at the end of
the day when you lie down in bed and start trying to sleep, an INEXPLICABLE
EMPTINESS will creep into your system.
A
feeling of something’s still lacking despite everything you have. Trust me,
boys and girls. I’ve been there. And I’ve seen a damned lot of it in others.
Second:
Make everyday Christmas Day – give to the needy, whenever you can.
Any
amount will do. It’s the thought, the spiritual fulfillment of carrying out the
wishes of our Lord Jesus Christ in your own little way that counts.
Tell
me we have all not forgotten these words of our Saviour: “Whatever you do to
the least of my bretheren, you do unto me.” And as the punch line from an old
advertisement goes: “The life you save may be your own.”
Just
a word of caution: BE SMART in giving your help.
Give
it yourself if you can. If not, channel it ONLY through a nationally
acknowledged and tried and tested charity organization like Caritas, the
Philippine National Red Cross or foundations of media companies.
If
God has given you much, much more than you need, He wants you to be an
instrument in spreading his graces to others.
Third: BE CONCERNED AND WISE with what’s happening
to our country.
Taker
a CLOSE LOOK at ALL THE FACTS and BOTH SIDES of an issue before passing on
judgment or making your own conclusion.
NEVER,
EVER BE FOOLED into believing one side simply because they come out more press
releases or radio/TV interviews than the other side. Analyze the proof of both
sides for yourself to determine who speaks the truth and who’s lying.
If
you see a wrong, join the dissent to it in whatever way possible --- posting in
the Internet or discussing the issue with as many friends as you can.
LIARS
AND CORRUPT officials get away with their evil deeds because we allow them to.
We hardly or don’t make enough noise to show them we’re watching. But if we
will unite, we can make a mountain of a diffewrence.
My
heartfelt thanks to all f you for your continued support and trust in our blog.
A
truly blessed, merry and safe Christmas to one and all. All the best and LET’S
NOT FORGET that Jesus Christ has arrived for us.
Following
Him is the least we can do. 30
