DON’T
EXPECT any transparency from Pnoy’s government in 2013.
If
ever there’s any, don’t be surprised if the details of any controversial issue
are VERY, VERY LIMITED and only in pursuit of their interests or in support of
their allegations or accusations.
Reason:
The Freedom of Information (FOI) Bill IS NOT AMONG THE PRIORITIES of Pnoy’s
Government for next year.
The bill is ready for plenary debates at the House of
Representatives following the public information committee’s approval of its
report on the measure early this month.
But Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said the Aquino
administration would want to see first how the deliberations will go.
Valte said: “We would like to see the debates first because there
are stakeholders that do raise other concerns that have not been extensively
discussed before.”
But take note, people:
The first, and foremost, justification for the FOI Bill is TOTAL
TRANSPARENCY in government transactions and actions, as a SAFEGUARD AGAINST
CORRUPTION.
Noong tumakbo para maging presidente si PNoy, wala siyang bukambibig
kundi galit siya sa corruption, at
corruption kuno noong nakaraang administrasayon.
As Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago once said, WAAAH!
Is Pnoy and his boys trying to hide something? PREVENTING AND FIGHTING CORRUPTION is not a
priority, is NOT THAT IMPORTANT.
Pero galit pa sila ng lagay na iyan sa corruptioin.
But for the Reproductiive Health Bill, PNoy HIMSELF certified the
bill as urgent to FAST TRACK its approval by the Senate and the House of
Representatives. Please check out one of our earlier blogs, GRAFT AND
CORRUPTION THROUGH RH LAW.
Kaya kayo na ang magsabi, mga lkababayan, kung anong klaseng utak
mayroon ang gobyernong ito.
Another thing, Valte DID NOT CITE EVEN ONE of the supposed other concerns.
She did not name even one of the supposed stakeholders either.
Meaning, if the debates won’t suit their wishes, PNoy’s government
won’t do anything to expedite the passage of the FOI Bill, and give us ordinary
mortals a weapon against corruption and fraud.
DAANG MATUWID? Tell that to the Marines, both Philippine and US.
