A
BIG HEADACHE on the Gwen Garcia case is shaping up for Malacanang.
A
story in the Manila Standard Today website says according to a survey by the
newspaper Cebu Daily News, a growing number of residents of Metro Cebu believe
Malacanang’s suspension of Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia is a clear power grab.
The
story said respondents who had found the suspension justified went down from 61.49
percent to 56.43 percent, while those who see it as a power grab increased from
34.95 percent to 40.98 percent.
Take
note, guys:
A
SPECIFIC NEWSPAPER laid claim to the survey. As far as I know, Cebu Daily News
is one of the biggest newspapers in Cebu .
Being
a former senior editor of a nationally-circulated group of newspapers myself,
let me tell you guys that no newspaper will openly admit having dome something
if it actually did not.
Especially
if it does not have any proof of the undertaking.
Some
may say the Cebu Daily News survey was paid for by Garcia or her supporters and
is nothing more than a self-serving press release.
Consider
these:
The
survey comes at a time when police have removed the barricade around the
capitol and reduced their number from 200 to around 50.
The
survey DOES NOT OVERWHELMING POPULAR SUPPORT for Garcia on her suspension,
which would have been the normal thing to do.
It only reflects a growing skepticism or doubt on the legality of the
action by Malacanang.
At
a time when PNoy or anyone of his spokespersons, and allies, continue to refuse
to answer Garcia’s defense that her suspension was in violation of the Local
Government Code and Administrative Order No. 23.
And
simply insist on the lawfulness of Garcia’s suspension in their endless press
statements, a cheap and vulgar mind-conditioning tactic.
Presidential
Spokesman Edwin Lacierda alleged several days ago that Garcia’s suspension was
supported by Cebuanos according to surveys. But he did not who conducted the
survey.
I
can hardly wait on how Lacierda will react to the Cebu Daily News poll.
And
more importantly, Think about these, people:
Garcia’s
suspension is QUESTIONABLE. But Pnoy and his gang don’t give a damn and show no
sign of even clarifying its legality.
Yun
ang gusto nila, yun ang dapat masunod. wala silang pakialam kung legal iyon o
hindi.
For
those who don’t know, under the law, the burden of proof is ON THE ACCUSER, NOT
THE ACCUSED. But in Garcia’s suspension,
Pnoy and his tribe are doing the EXACT OPPOSITE.
KUNG
ANO ANG GUSTO NI PNOY, YUN ANG BATAS, GANUN BA?
HINDI NA DEMOKRASYA YUN, DIKTADURYA NA! 30
