Apart
from the dictatorial nature and irrational penalties in the Cybercrime Act, one
thing we should all NOT OVERLOOK is the INSENSITIVITY (kawalan ng pakialam) being shown by PNoy to
the people’s voice.
As
of yesterday, I read that petitions filed with the Supreme Court against the
Act have already reached 15. These are petitions from various sectors like the
academe and media people.
Add
to this the online protests being waged against, and denunciations being
issued, against the Act. As well as observations and amendments being declared
and initiated by senators and congressmen themselves.
But
despite all these, I have yet to hear PNoy categorically order Justice Sec.
Leila de Lima to DEFER the implementation of the Act. Not even until Congress
has acted on proposed amendments to it.
De
Lima has reportedly begun dialogues on objections to and observations of
infirmities of the Act.
But
PNoy won’t even endorse the dialogues or encourage the people to openly air
their sentiments. Or work with senators and congressmen in coming up with a better
version of the Act.
Even
if it’s crystal-clear in the Act that the MERE OPINION of De Lima alone is
ENOUGH to block from any website anyone she finds to be a violator of the Act.
Or
close any website which she’ll find to be in cahoots with the supposed
violator. All these powers WITHOUT NEED for a court order or ruling/
Kumbaga,
BINGI SI PNOY sa mga daing at reklamo natin. WALA SIYANG PAKIALAM. BAHALA TAYO
SA BUHAY NATIN! At boss niya pa tayo ng lagay na iyan.
In
effect, it’s not the people’s justified
plea which is important to PNoy. It’s what he wants which is IMPORTANT.
Kaya
Isipin
ninyong mabuting-mabuti! 30
