Malacanang says it is open to amendment to
the Cybercrime Act.
Here are three simple tests to prove their sincerity.
If they don’t carry these out immediately, or leave out even one, then it’s nothing
more than an AMATEURISH, FACE-SAVING GIMMICK to defuse the UNDENIABLE PUBLIC
OUTRAGE over the Act.
First, Pnoy must certify bills (three
according to latest news reports) amending the Act as urgent. And I mean AS
SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Second, PNoy must PERSONALLY and
CATEGORICALLY order his boys in the Senate and the House of Representatives to
work on the amendments, first.
And give them a deadline for it.
Third, PNoy HIMSELF should preside over consultations
on amendments being proposed by the public in a MEDIA-COVERED DIALOGUE in
Malacanang.
So that he will HEAR FOR HIMSELF the TRUE
SENTIMENTS of the people on the Act, and fast-track the conceptualization of
the best revisions to the deferred law.
As of now, it’s the Department of Justice
which is conducting public consultations on possible amendments to the Act.
If Pnoy and his people are SINCERE in
listening to the people’s voice and in coming up with the best Act for us, then
there shouldn’t be any problem in carrying out these moves.
Anybody correct me if I’m wrong but these
three tests will not break any law, will not endanger any person in any manner
whatsoever and will not jeopardize national security.
Uulitin ko, kung NAGPAPAKARTUTOO ANG
GOBYERNO.
Otherwise, it’s up to us if we’ll allow them
to FOOL us again with another empty vow.
SIguruhin lang ng mga magpapaloko na handa
sila sa magiging resulta sa ating kalayaan ng pamamahayag. 30
