CONGRATULATIONS to all of us opponents of the
Cybercrime Act.
The issuance of a 120-day temporary
restraining order (TRO) by the Supreme Court against the Act’s implementation shows
we’re on the RIGHT TRACK, people.
The TRO proved that there are MERITS in our
objections to the Act that should be THOROUGHLY HEARD, FIRST, before it is
enforced. It was a message to PNoy and the Act’s authors that we’re TALKING
SENSE, and that they should STOP PLAYING DEAF to our voices.
BUTI pa ang Supreme Court, NAKIKINIG SA
TAUMBAYAN.
What we should do now is carry on the fight
MORE INTENSELY, Not just here at home but in every country and website we could
reach or post in, directly or through our personal and Internet friends.
Keep on posting all the dictatorial
provisions and penalties of the Act. Not just on your friends’ walls r pages
but in all the Facebook and Twitter groups you are a member of or can tweet on.
Do it every day if you can if you can, so
that they really won’t forget.
Join in or like as many Net groups and pages that
you can, especially those of MEDIA OUTFITS both local and foreign. Let the
whole world know that we are DEAD SERIOUS in opposing the Act, all the way.
Let’s also be on the lookout for schemes or gimmicks
or moves that SUPPORTERS of the Act will carry out, directly or indirectly, to
shorten the TRO if possible or brainwash the people.
Gimmicks may include character assassination
or accusations of fraud against leading opponents of the Act. Claims which,
when you take a closer look, are actually BASELESS.
We may have won today.
But the fight is far from over. A lot of
things will happen, or can happen, until the TRO expires in January. Don’t let
your guard down, boys and girls.
Again, congratulations everyone°30
