To those who insist on describing the
assumption of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to the speakership of
the House as a coup, READ AND PROVE THIS WRONG FIRST before you continue
howling:
These are excerpts from an interview by
ABS-CBN’S ANC Headstart with
Deputy Speaker and Capiz Rep. Fredenil Castro
(http://news.abs-cbn.com/news/07/24/18/house-coup-speaker-arroyos-election-valid-says-solon):
"It's not a coup. Why do I say that?
Simply because the proceeding was approved by the majority of the members of
congress in the plenary. In the House of Representatives you may not have the
presiding officer, you may not have the Speaker, you may not have the majority
floor leader to conduct or open the session."
Castro said majority of the lawmakers voted
to oust Alvarez and install Arroyo as speaker following a motion from Batangas
Rep. Raneo Abu, with Camarines Sur Rep. Rolando Andaya acting as interim
presiding officer.
Let me add that before I posted this blog, I
went over various news websites and NO ONE HAS DISPUTED Congressman Castro’s
statement.
Kumontra na ang kokontra. Just be sure to
STICK TO THE ISSUE. 30
