WOULD ANY SENATOR HAVE COMPLAINED IF...

Much as I hate it, I can’t help but ask this question on the raging controversy over Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile’s supposed Christmas gift to the other senators.

KUNG PAREHO-PAREHO ang nakuhang halaga ng lahat ng senador, MAY MAGREREKLAMO KAYA (If all the senators had received the same amount, would anybody have complained)?

Again, I’m not trying to defend Enrile. If a probe by any agency is warranted, by all means go ahead.

But think about these, people:

The ones who are complaining are the ones who received amounts MUCH SMALLER than the rest.

The monies in question are supposed to be Christmas gifts,

But I don’t recall anyone among the complainants exposing and questioning its legality and morality, on whatever ground. until after Christmas Day.

Anybody correct me if I’m wrong.

Otherwise, anybody should have raised hell the very moment he or she learned that the money was forthcoming. They should NOT HAVE ACCEPTED IT right from the start.

Surely, all the senators were notified one way or another of the money before they got it. And even if they were totally surprised, they definitely saw the details of the disbursement in the documentary attachments like vouchers.

When you believe in something, it SHOULD NOT BE SUBJECTIVE. NO ifs or buts, Otherwise, be a million and one percent  sure of your conviction first before you even say a word.

To SPARE other people from the time and effort you will waste instead of devoting it to them,

One thing for sure boys and girls, we deserve SOMETHING BETTER.30
