Whether
or not her political enemies and critics admit it, suspended Cebu Gov. Gwen
Garcia executed a BRILLIANT PROPAGANDA MOVE by joining the Sinulog festivities
despite the risk of a lockout.
In
a practically EFFORTLESS manner, Gwen drove home the message that she is INNOCENT
and is therefore NOT AFRAID of the government or of anyone else.
Especially
PNoy who, just days ago, had warned her on media against forcing him to have
her bodily ejected form her office at the provincial capitol building.
Peacefully
but devastatingly, Gwen told her constituents, and the Filipino people as a
whole, that she had done them no wrong and has NOTHING TO FEAR or be ASHAMED of
on the allegations against her which led to her suspension.
Unlike
PNoy, or acting Cebu Gov. Agnes Magpale, who had resorted to pressure and scare
tactics just to force Gwen out .
If
you will recall, Magpale claimed weeks ago that according to a radio survey,
more Cebuanos are in favor of cutting the water and power supply to Gwen’s
office to pressure her to leave.
But
when asked for details of the alleged survey, Magpale could not give any. So
you know what would be one good gimmick to help clear the issues and for the
people to see who’s lying and who’s not?
A
public confrontation between Gwen and Pnoy, or his representative, and Magpale
strictly on the issues in the governor’s suspension, with live tri-media
(print, radio and TV) coverage
I
just don’t know if this is legally possible, since Gen has a pending petition
with the Court of Appeals for a temporary restraining order (TRO). But if it
is, we’ll get the chance to observe reactions, facial expressions and other
indicators of a liar.
If
both Gwen and the government are 100 percent convinced of the legality of their
actions, and can prove it with physical evidence (not just self-serving press
releases), then there’s no reason for anyone to reject a confrontation.
