CAYETANO CASTS DOUBT ON OWN CREDIBILITY!

Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano damaged his reputation more than that of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile in their confrontation yesterday at the Senate.

Cayetano alleged that Enrile’s chief of staff, lawyer Gigi Reyes, acted like a senator and attended, and spoke, at their caucuses. Worse, he added that it’s actually Reyes and Enrile who ran the Senate.

First, it was Enrile, NOT REYES, WHO DISBURSED the now controversial Christmas bonus to the senators. Second, even if Reyes is acting like a senator. that has NOTHNG TO DO with the Christmas bonus.

So why drag the lady into the picture?

Third, Cayetano DID NOT SPECIFY how Reyes is allegedly running the Senate with Enrile.  Neither did he PRESENT PROOF of Reyes’ supposed intervention and of any wrongdoing by the two in managing the Senate.

Fourth, in obvious desperation of having something bad to say against Enrile, Cayetano even dragged former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (GMA) and her lawyer-husband Mike into his attack.

Cayetano asked Enrile if he was mad at him because of the Senate President’s closeness to the former First Couple, whom he had often criticized.

I say desperate because there has been no known or proven monumental favor which Enrile got from GMA during her presidency, which is enough for the Senate President to get back at Cayetano soley for his verbal assaults on her.

More importantly, GMA IS NO LONGER IN POWER. She CANNOT NFLUENCE Enrile in any way.

So even if the Senate President is indeed close, or even super close, to GMA, there’s no reason for him to risk his reputation by stooping down to the lowly allegation of Cayetano.

I’m not saying that Cayetano is lying, or that Enrile is clean.

But think about this, boys and girls: Cayetano dropped what he thought were bombs against Enrile. But for not having even one physical proof of anything to trigger an explosion, the bombs turned out to be duds.

Cayetano has just cast a serious doubt on his CREDIBILITY.  

If Cayetano knows what’s good for him, he had better have one INDISPUTABLE and DAMNING proof of anything he intends to allege before he even thinks of opening is mouth.

As to other senators and all those who want Enrile’s head for the senators’ Christmas bonuses, FILE WHATEVER CASE you can NOW!.
