No less than the United
Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) has
reported that nearly ONE MILLION victims still need food assistance a month
after typhoon ‘Pablo’ swept parts of Mindanao.
This despite the BILLIONS of
pesos in aid in cash and kind from donors both here at home and from abroad,
especially FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS!
So WHERE THE HELL IS THE MONEY, and THE GOODS?
In an assessment released
Thursday, the UNOCHA reported that “between 800,000 and one million people are
in need of food assistance in the worst affected areas.”
Citing data from the World
Food Program and the DSWD, the UNOCHA said
some 238,000 persons have received family food packs in Compostela Valley
ONLY 238,000, boys and
girls.
Even if the food packs were
worth P200 each, that would only amount to P46,700,000.
Now consider, these, people:
That is an additional P27
million, for a grand total of P187 million, from these four donors alone. Even if you subtract P46,700,000, P140,300,000
will still be left.

Take note, people, that up
to now, the DSWD HAS NOT YET PUBLICLY RELEASED A DETAILED BREAKDOWN of the
‘Pablo’ aid it has received from all over the country and the world.
Anybody correct me if I’m
wrong but we, the people don’t know, among others::
HOW MUCH aid has been given
HOW MUCH HAS BEEN SPENT, on
what, for whom and for where
HOW MUCH IS LEFT, where is
it and who’s holding the money
Where are the supporting
documents for purchases and other expenses
Where are the documents
which prove that the aid indeed went to the victims, and not into the hands of
thieves
