Trillanes: Enrile in
cahoots with Arroyo
After a heated exchange on the floor
over a bill dividing Camarines Sur, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV confirmed he
wants Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile ousted for alleged links to former
President Gloria Arroyo.
Trillanes said
Enrile is railroading the Cam Sur bill at Arroyo's behest, quoting newspaper
reports. He also claimed to have received confidential information from a
fellow senator that Arroyo and Enrile are allies.
Asked if he
will move to declare all seats in the Senate vacant, Trillanes said, "Not
yet. He should leave. Lalo pa ngayon, iimbestigahan si GMA (over the Bridges
program)."
Trillanes said
Enrile never denied links to Arroyo.
At the Senate plenary hall on
Wednesday, Trillanes was delivering his
speech when Enrile managed to butt in and disclose Trillanes’ role in allegedly
derailing the country’s ownership over areas also being claimed by China .
Trillanes walked
out of the room when Enrile brandished notes from former Ambassador to China
Sonia Brady on what the former has done as the country’s “backdoor channel.”
Trillanes said
he walked out of Enrile's interpellation because he was already talking about
state secrets. He said that as former defense minister, Enrile should have
known better.
Trillanes said
Enrile should be sanctioned for divulging state secrets.
On the
revelations of the Senate President, Trillanes said: "What he presented
was a diversion. Tinawag niya akong coward eh. Senator Enrile ka lang.
Titindigan kita…”
Asked about allegations he's doing this
to Enrile because his request for more funding had been rejected, Trillanes
said: “Comments iyun ng desperadong tao. Siya ang pinakamalaki ang ginagastos
dito." ###
