The Supreme Court/Presidential
Electoral Tribunal (PET) has rejected Bongbong Marcos’ motion for investigation
into the Pansol outing of 24 of its personnel and a revisor of Leni Robredo. The
PET said it conducted its own probe before Bongbong’s motion and has in fact concluded
it. But, IT DID NOT REVEAL DETAILS.
So the people still have NO
ASSURANCE that the PET 24 have NOT BEEN CORRUPTED by Robredo.
A lawyer whom I consulted
agreed with me that it was improper, at the very least, for Robredo’s revisor
to join the outing since the recount of the votes covered by Bongbong’s protest
against her is ongoing.
“And without anyone from
Bongbong’s camp in the outing, there’s no guarantee that nothing irregular or
unethical happened or was agreed upon between Robredo’s revisor and the PET 24. Only a full
disclosure of the results will clear the air, considering the fact that Leni’s
camp has not yet presented proof of her claim that Bongbong and his people knew
of the outing and were invited,” the lawyer noted.
Personally, I don’t see any reason
why the findings should not be revealed either. The outing DID HAPPEN. And
there’s no national security concern attached or related to it. So why keep the results of the probe secret?
