Noynoy Aquino OWES former President and
outgoing House of Representatives Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (GMA) an
APOLOGY, A HUGE APOLOGY.
At kung MAGINOO AT PROFESSIONAL si Noynoy,
magso-SORRY siya agad ng WALANG ALINLANGAN, sa lalong madaling panahon.
When GMA assumed the speakership a year ago,
Noynoy’s HIGHLY PUBLICIZED prejudgment was “What could she possibly do in a
year?” As records would now show, that year has been ONE OF THE MOST PRODUCTIVE
in the history of the House.
A total of 250 BILLS were passed by the House
under GMA’s leadership (https://www.philstar.com/opinion/2019/06/11/1925556/productive).
Among those bills were: The Bangsamoro Organic Law, Security of Tenure Act, Coconut
Farmers Trust Fund Act, Rice Tariffication Act, various packages of the
Comprehensive Tax Reform Program, Universal Health Care Act, Free Tertiary
Education Act and the National ID System. On the side were mining, alcohol and
tobacco tax increases, reforms in property valuation and capital income and
financial taxes along with the tax amnesty program pushed by the Department of
Finance.

si GMA sa ipinakita niyang accomplishments bilang Speaker.
