If you still have some self-respect, Pia Ranada, STOP THE STUPIDITY AND DRAMA. You’re HALLUCINATING if you think you’ll gain public sympathy by making a big deal out of your being banned in from Malacanang Palace.

First: Whether you like it or not, President Duterte is the resident of the Palace. So naturally, he himself would order the ban and not the chef, his secretary, anyone among the waiters, etc. You very well know (and how STUPID can you be if you don’t) that anyone can ban anybody anytime from his or her home. Even you can do it to anyone, including Digong himself. You’re NOT THE OWNER of the Palace either who must not be denied access to it anytime she wants.

Second: You’re banned ONLY FROM ENTERING THE PALACE. And NOT from doing your job as a reporter. You can still go into the press office and use the facilities there. . So it’s TOTALLY illogical for you to claim that the ban is prior restraint in doing your work. Don’t even think of invoking press freedom because access to the Palace IS NOT, AND WILL NEVER BE THE SAME, as press freedom. And you know it.

If you’ll say that you can’t do your job effectively because of the ban, then you’re INCOMPETENT and probably do not have your own informants or friends among your colleagues from whom you can ask further details if you need to. I know what I’m saying because I’m a former senior editor of a group of newspapers.
