Wow, acting Health Secretary
Francisco Duque III is suddenly LAWYERING for Noynoy Aquino in the
implementation of the Dengvaxia dengue vaccination program. And if he or his
people know what’s good for him, somebody had better tell him to stop doing so,
IMMEDIATELY.
A philstar.com story (http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/news/nation/640265/duque-defends-past-admin-s-decision-to-use-dengvaxia/story/) reported that at the Provincial Dengue Summit in San Fernando in Pampanga,
Duque said: "Sa tingin ko hindi naman nila hangarin na makapagbibigay ito
ng perwisyo. Sa tingin ko po nabigyan ng maling abiso ang dating Pangulong
Aquino."
Consciously or not, Duque is
already PREEMPTING investigations or hearings which will be conducted by
government agencies TOTALLY INDEPENDENT OF HIM or of the Department of Health
(DOH). He’s NOT THE ONE, or is a member of any agency, who will decide on
whether or not Noynoy had committed anything illegal. And he knows it. So it’s
nothing less than INAPPROPRIATE for Duque to say anything that could be of help
to Noynoy at this point. Regardless of
what it is. And he knows it.
Instead of commenting on what
he thinks of Noynoy’s possibie liability, Duque should instead talk on what he
has done so far at the Department of Health (DOH) to hold those responsible for
the Dengvaxia deal liable. Anybody correct me if I’m wrong but to date, NOBODY
among those who played a role in the transaction has been penalized or
sanctioned in any manner whatsoever.
He has been hounding Sanofi,
yes, but the FACT REMAINS that it was DOH implemented the Dengvaxia
vaccination. So it’s NOT ENOUGH to lay all the blame on Dengvaxia maker Sanofi
alone And I’m sure Duque would not want
to be accused of a cover-up of the Dengvaxia mess in the future.30
