Hontiveros’ STUPIDITY OR BIAS, OR BOTH!
In a story in inquirer.net, Hontiveros said Malacañang
is claiming victory while using the public health shift discourse to provide a
humane face to its deadly war on drugs and evade accountability for the patent
abuses. If, among others, the UNDISPUTED DROP in the common crime rate and the
seizure of some P6 BILLION WORTH OF SHABU in San Juan City alone are not proof
of victory for you, then you had better be HONEST ENOUGH to admit whose side
are you really on.
And whether you’re DELIBERATELY IGNORING IT,
or simply TOO STUPID NOT to realize it, the anti-drug war has had a humane face
right from the start. TWO HUMANE FACES, actually. It has been SAVING the people
from the EVILS that can be triggered by illegal drugs in addicts. You have
heard of the words RAPE, ROBBERY/HOLDUP, THRILL KILLINGS and the like, haven’t
you Ms. Hontiveros? At the same time, addicts are spared from possible death or
insanity, or serious illnesses due to overdose.
Hontiveros said: “The government’s supposed
shift to a public health approach in its anti-drugs campaign should have come
first.” The ROOT CAUSE of health problems of addicts and users is ILLEGAL
DRUGS. If the pushers/traffickers won’t be eliminated or their numbers reduced,
the VOLUME of illegal drugs will remain the same or even increase. Public
health concerns WILL NEVER BE SOLVED. Shame
on you, Ms. Hontiveros, if you don’t realize that.
Hontiveros said only nine percent of
suspected users of illegal drugs who surrendered are now in rehabilitation
facilities. The other 91 percent went back home. But she DID NOT CITE even a
single proof of her claims --- source of the figures, location/residence of the
91 percent
Hontiveros said the
best public health approach now is for the government to end alleged
extrajudicial killings. Why don’t you ask pushers and traffickers, as well as
addicts, NOT TO FIGHT AND JUST SURRENDER IMMEDIATELY if caught by police? Address
them PUBLICLY. You’re not on the side of drug lords and pushers, are you?
