It seems Budget Sec. Benjamin Diokno will be
on his own in facing the controversies surrounding the proposed national
budget.
A highly-reliable and long-time informant of
mine has just revealed to me that Malacanang has asked Diokno to face the House
of Representatives and cooperate fully with it in clearing his supposed
irregular actions on the national budget.
My informant said Diokno was advised that it
would be to the best interest of the government if he would clear the air once
and for all and leave no unanswered questions before the House.
Malacanang is not assuming anything against
Diokno, my informant emphasized. “But the consensus is it would be better to
show to the people that there’s nothing to hide.”
Good move by Malacanang. That’s transparency
in action. PARA MAGKAALAMAN NA NG TOTOO!
