3 PANG MAKAKAPAL ANG MUKHA

A few days ago, President Digong Duterte apologized for the“unintentional” deaths of innocents in his anti-drug war.

In a Dec. 31 story in philstar.com, Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Chairman Chito Gascon said:  “That President Duterte is feeling remorse for those killed unintentionally should spur him to do more than just say sorry. A thorough independent investigation of every single case of death during police operations must be undertaken.“

But Gascon DID NOT CITE OR PRODUCE PROOF to believe the PNP’s claim that it is indeed investigating questionable deaths in the anti-drug war. And I don’t think he’s  stupid not to realize that probes of killings are not completed in a day or two or three.

Risa Hontiveros said she was not impressed by the apology, and that “President Duterte should go beyond words and rhetoric. I believe the best apology he can give the people is for the government to put a stop to the extrajudicial killings (EJKs).”

At humirit pa ng “holding all those responsible for these atrocities must be done.”

Unless YOU HAVE PROOF to the contrary, Ms. Hontiveros, PNP chief Bato dela Rosa had long said that questionable killing are under investigation. And these don’t just take a day or two

Pangilinan said he found it difficult to accept Duterte’s description of “unintended” in reference to the innocents killed since “police are encouraged to kill and even to lie and are assured that they will not go to jail.”  First, Mr. Pangilinan, DO YOU HAVE PROOF that police are encouraged to kill and to lie APART FROM YOUR OWN WORDS? Second, you’re a lawyer. Which is which – you’re DELIBERATELY OVERLOOKING THE FACT THAT ONLY A COURT OF LAW has the power to decide whether a person is guilty or not, you’re suffering from some degree of amnesia or CHARACTER ASSASSINATION is actually your game.30
