Apart from the record-high 66 percent overall
satisfaction of the people with President Digong Duterte’s performance, the
latest Social Weather Stations survey proves something else of equal significance:
The MISERABLE CREDIBILITY of Digong’s critics, both local and foreign.
A year into his presidency, Digong’s
popularity and satisfaction ratings remain way beyond the average level. The
NON-STOP attacks by his detractors – the supposed summary killings he had allegedly
delegated to the Davao Death Squad, the SHAMELESS branding of the thousands of
deaths in the anti-drug war as government-sanctioned summary executions, his health,
the Mindanao Martial Law, the supposed human rights calamity Leila de Lima and
a foreign groups are screaming about, Antonio Trillanes’ oft-repeated but still
baseless corruption accusations, and a lot more-- have ALL failed miserably to pull down the
public’s trust on Digong.
Instead of igniting public hatred on Digong,
to the point of a clamor for his ouster, his detractors get all the bashing and
the people’s anger instead. Anyone can browse social media anytime and see for
himself or herself.
If Digong’s critics are SMART ENOUGH TO KNOW
the true meaning of credibility, and have the shame and decency to live by it,
it’s time for them to be more CONSTRUCTIVE instead of DESTRUCTIVE, TRUTHFUL and
ACCURATE instead of being DECEPTIVE. If
they won’t be, then people of the Philippines we have one MONSTROUS MORAL
PROBLEM! 30
