President Digong Duterte’s critics can belittle
his firing of Ismail Sueno for as long as they like but they will NEVER ERASE
THE TRUTH that he is MORE SINCERE than Noynoy Aquino in fighting corruption.
Sueno is the SECOND member, and KNOWN PERSONAL
FRIEND of Digong, to be dropped from his Cabinet for alleged corruption in just
10 months.
At least FOUR KNOWN PERSONAL FRIENDS of Noynoy
who were repeatedly linked to various fraudulent transactions and corrupt
activities in his six years IN OFFICE --- Rico Puno, the late Virginia
Torres, Joseph Emilio Abaya and Proceso
Alcala. But Noynoy DID NOT FIRE any of them. Neither did Noynoy suspend or had
anyone of them investigated. Noynoy even KEPT Abaya and Alcala UNTIL THE END OF
HIS TERM. If my memory serves me right, Torres and Puno eventually quit.
And let’s not forget that until Noynoy left
office, he NEVER ORDERED AN AUDIT of the still QUESTIONABLE use of the
multi-billion donations and funding for victims of supertyphoon ‘Yolanda.’ As
well as the utilization and disbursement of the conditional cash transfer (CCT)
funds of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Incumbent DSWD
Sec. Judy Taguiwalo has reportedly started an audit of the funds.
Lastly, Digong didn’t have any anti-corruption battlecry
until he assumed the presidency. Noynoy had this slogan “Kung walang corrupt,
walang mahirap” even while he was still campaigning for President. And when he
left office, surveys showed that POVERTY WAS AS RAMPANT AS EVER. 30
