Halos 48 TAON NA ANG NAKARARAAN ay may naging karahasan na sa loob ng simbahan.
On Oct. 18,
1970, then Ilocos Sur Congressman Floro Crisologo was shot dead inside the Vigan
cathedral while waiting in line to receive Holy Communion. He is the father of
Quezon City Congressman Vincent ‘Bingbong’ Crisologo. Unti a few years ago, the
murder remained unsolved.

Benwaren of Tineg town, Abra died on the spot when he was shot in the head on
Oct. 29, 2002 inside the San Isidro Labrador Church in Calauan, Laguna. He was
a sponsor in the wedding of his payload operator and signing the marriage
contract as a witness when he was shot.
