SC SHOULD RESOLVE LENI APPEAL FAST!
The Supreme Court (SC), acting as the
Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), should decide fast on the appeal of Leni
Robredo against its decision to proceed with the electoral protest by Bongbong
Marcos against her. If they can speedily decide for others, there’s no reason
why they can’t do the same for Bongbong’s protest.
If I remember correctly, it only took a day
or two for the SC to set oral arguments for Leila de Lima’s motion against her
detention right after she was arrested recently. A couple of weeks ago, the SC
approved the request of Comelec to dismantle equipment used during the
elections. And I just can’t remember the details but during the Christmas
season in 2015, the SC issued a temporary restraining order for Grace Poe.
In contrast, P.E.T. rules clearly state that
a preliminary conference should be called by the tribunal after the last
pleading for the protest is filed. This
was done on Sept. 9 last year but up to now, no conference has even been
scheduled.
We, the people, continue to SPEND FOR LENI’S
SALARY, PERKS AND OTHER EXPENSES despite her HIGHLY-SUSPICIOUS VICTORY in last
year’s elections. MORALLY, THIS CAN’T GO ON INDEFINITELY. 30
Let the true winner be proclaimed!
