MAUTE TERRORISM AMONG US!

In case you haven’t noticed, boys and girls, the PURE EVIL plaguing Marawi City for the past three weeks is NOT JUST CONFINED THERE. It’s BEEN WITH US, AMONG US, ALMOST IMMEDIATELY right after the Maute terrorists began their devilish rampage.

In WHAT WAY? The NON-STOP, MULTI-SECTORAL opposition to, and criticism, of everything the government does to end the crisis and wipe out the Maute devils, while IGNORING the rising number of military and civilian deaths.

You have politicians, self-proclaimed human rights champions, at least one government agency and others fighting the imposition of Martial Law in Mindanao in the Supreme Court after the Marawi crisis began. Even if Marawi residents themselves ARE NOT OPPOSING Martial Law, which can help the military CONTROL the terrorists’ movement and prevent their future attacks.

And as far as I know, NOT ONE among the politicians opposing the Mindanao Martial Law has ever done anything to help foil or eliminate terrorism in the region or elsewhere. No proposed law, project or program, nothing. Anybody correct me if I’m wrong.

You have the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) who has just appealed for a halt to airstrikes, a move that will obviously EASE THE PRESSURE on the Maute terrorists and give them more mobility. But to date, the CHR has NOT SAID A WORD against the terrorists’ summary execution and violation of the human rights of the victims. You have supposed pro-poor lawyers who are against the Mindanao Martial Law, but have never offered free legal assistance to the families of the dead or to the wounded  against the terrorists.
