PNoy had better start vigorously pursuing
international intervention following Malaysia ’s
rejection of a ceasefire offer by Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III to end the
fighting in Sabah .
If PNoy won’t do anything, it will be proof that he is for the
interests of others first, before that of the Filipino people.
Not even to United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Ban Kii-Moon,
who had called for an end to the violence in Sabah .
Kung hindi makikinig ang Malaysia sa isa o dalawang tao, baka
sakaling sa UN o sa ibang mas malalaki at makapangyarihang bansa ay pumayag na
sila sa ceasefire.
Whether PNoy likes it or not, Kiram’s men are Filipino citizens,
too, and are entitled to all the protection provided for by Philippine laws.
I’m not saying that Kiram’s men have done nothing wrong. But
neither have they been proven guilty of anything by any international court.
So under our laws, they are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Hahayaan na lang ba ng Gobyernong Aquino na maubos silang lahat
doon na parang dagang tinutugis ng pusa?
If PNoy continues to echo the Malaysian line of unconditional
surrender instead of personally carrying out measures to help guarantee the
safety of Kiram’s men, then there should be no more room for doubt that he is
acting like a spokesman for the Malaysian Government..
If PNoy won’t do anything, then there’s no reason to vote for his
candidates in the coming elections. We will only glorify his being a weakling
through his candidates whom we will vote for.
For the record, I don’t want a shooting war between Malaysia and the Philippines .
What I’m after is for PNoy to show genuine concern to our Muslim
brothers and sisters in Kraim’s followers as the father of the nation.
Pilipino rin sila katulad natin. 30
