AMATEURISH PUBLICITY GIMMICK BY DPWH!

A story in inquirer.net says several politicians have allegedly defied the warning of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Sec. Rogelio Singson against meddling in the bidding for public infrastructure projects.

My take: A CHEAP AND AMATEURISH PUBLICITY STUNT to divert public attention from controversies hounding PNoy’s government like the pending joint congressional resolution on emergency powers for him.

First: The inquirer.net story said some of the politicians “tried to influence some members of (the) DPWH bids and awards committee (BAC) in bagging projects.

If politicians were to influence anybody, it would HAVE TO BE SINGSON himself since he is the DPWH boss and can definitely pressure the committee. No politician in his right mind would waste time influencing mere members of the BAC whom they know would be more scared of Singson than them.

Second: The story, supposedly revealed by DPWH insiders, DID NOT SAY ANYTHING ON HOW the alleged attempts to influence te BAC members were made, when was it done and where.

As in NO DETAILS WHATSOEVER.

Third: Singson CONFIRMED the story by claiming that “we have already warned them (the politicians).” But he DID NOT NAME the alleged politicians, who supposedly include a Bicol congressman, some members of a prominent political clan in Western Mindanao and a Cordillera governor.

And here’s the MOST IDIOTIC AND DAMNING part:

Singson urged bidders and civil society organizations, to file charges against abusive and corrupt politicians.

If Singson or the DPWH will file charges against these supposed politicians, or even if he will admit to BEING SCARED TO DEATH of them so that’s why it’s the people who must sue and not him, I will be more than glad to correct myself.30
