TAIWAN APOLOGY PROVED SICKENING TRUTH ABOUT PNOYGOV'T

The apology extended by the PNoy Government to Taiwan over the death of a Taiwanese fisherman last May in the hands of Coast Guard personnel is a move in the right direction.

But it also proved one sickening truth about the Aquino Government: NAUUNA ANG YABANG, ANG DALDAL, BAGO ANG GAWA! Add to this the undeniable DIPLOMATIC INCOMPETENCE shown by the belated action.

I still remember Malacanang’s tough stance of not apologizing immediately after the killing (if I recall correctly, it was Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte).

Taiwanese investigators were even given  hard time when they came here, which they revealed in a news conference before returning home ahead of schedule.

Among others, job opportunities for our countrymen were lost or deferred. Some of our kababayans were harassed and physically assaulted by the Taiwanese.

All these had to happen, first.  Pero bandang huli, MAGSO-SORRY rin pala tayo.

Kung ang PNoy Government ay HINDI AGAD NAGYABANG na hindi tayo magso-sorry, kung sinabi na lang sana nila agad na ‘Let us finish the investigation first before you penalize us, and we will apologize if we have to,”  HINDI MAGAGALIT NG GANUN ANG TAIWAN.

And let’s not forget, boys and girls, all’s stil NOT WELL between us and Hong Kong  over the Luneta hostage massacre by a dismissed policeman, primarily because up to now, NOBODY HAS BEEN PUNISHED OR HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR INCOMPETENCE or whatever offense.

If this is isn’t  diplomatic iincompetence, I would welcome a better term, promise.

Kaya HUWAG NA TAYONG MAGTAKA kung bakit tila hindi tayo iginagala ng imga bang bansa.

Personally, I now fear for the SAFETY, JOBS and DIGNITY of our kababayans overseas the moment we get into trouble again with another country.30
